Like Special Order colors, a Special Order profile is one NewTechWood manufactures, but is not available in a certain territory, such as here in the US. Like with Special Order colors, to order a Special Order profile, the minimum would be a 2400 linear feet minimum (approximately 1100 square feet). This comes out to 150 boards of 16-ft length. There is also a 16-week lead time, and a 30% deposit requirement. Special Order colors cannot be purchased through our retail partners and would require a direct purchase, or if applicable, working with a distributor in your area.

WHAT IS A CUSTOM COLOR?
A Custom Color is a color that we do not currently manufacture. We can manufacture NewTechWood products in a color of your choosing, designed to match any color. However, please allow for this to take time. Once the color has been confirmed, this would have a 16 week lead time so using Custom Colors is only practical for projects that have such a time frame. Additionally, as with Special Order colors and profiles, the minimum would be a 2400 linear feet minimum (approximately 1100 square feet). This comes out to 150 boards of 16-ft length. IS THIS MATERIAL SLIPPERY WHEN WET?
While all composite material has some slipperiness, especially when wet, the nature to which you may feel it is slippery would vary based on the contact material (i.e. the material on the bottom of your shoe). We would not anticipate an excessive level of slipperiness with this material, and in fact may find some of the slipperiness to be mitigated by the grain pattern. A slip resistance test has been done on the UH02 Voyager series hollow deck boards, as per DIN51130 (see https://www.din.de/en/getting-involved/standards-committees/nmp/standards/wdc-beuth:din21:196898059). The results certified the material as an R10 rating. This rating can be extended to the other deck boards and the deck tiles, given the similar grain material and identical material composition. IS NEWTECHWOOD ULTRASHIELD NATURALE MATERIAL FREE OF PHTHALATES?
Yes! NewTechWood does not use any PVC in its manufacturing and is therefore free of Phthalates.
IS NEWTECHWOOD MATERIAL CALIFORNIA WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE (WUI) COMPLIANT?
NewTechWood deck boards are not WUI compliant. However, NewTechWood siding can be made WUI compliant by installing it as per the instructions detailed here: https://www.newtechwood.com/pdf/NewTechWood_California_Wildland_Urban_Interface_Notice.pdf.

HOW DO NEWTECHWOOD COMPOSITE PRODUCTS HOLD UP TO EXTREME HEAT?
While the nature of composite material does cause it to retain heat, it would not warp the material, which has been even tested in boiling water (see https://www.newtechwood.com/ultrashield-tests/#test5).
HOW DO I CLEAN NEWTECHWOOD COMPOSITE MATERIAL?
NewTechWood material can be cleaned with soap and water. We do not recommend using plant-based cleaners as some customers have noted issues with threading when doing so. We do not yet have testing to confirm this but if it can be avoided, it would be best.
