Yes, the gaps between the deck tiles allow for water to evaporate.
DO THE SPACES FOR THE DECK TILES ALLOW FOR DEBRIS TO FALL IN BETWEEN THE SLATS?
Yes, that is correct. The deck tiles do have tiny spaces between the slats, where small particles can fall into. However, they are easy to clean with soap and water, including light hosing.
DO NEWTECHWOOD DECK TILE PLASTIC CONNECTORS GET BRITTLE IN THE COLD?
No, the plastic in these deck tiles are not affected by the cold and should not be damaged under normal weather conditions.
ARE WATER-TIGHT VERSIONS OF THE DECK TILES AVAILABLE?
No, at the moment, we do not offer a water-tight version of the deck tiles.

ARE NEWTECHWOOD STONE DECK TILES AVAILABLE? COULD YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THEM?
As of November 2019, our stone deck tiles are still anticipated to be available early next year 2020. They come in two patterns, one with smaller pieces in the design (US-QD-STR1-ZX) and one with larger pieces (US-QD-STR2-ZX). They weight 5-6 lbs. per deck tile and would be sold in 5-piece boxes (30-31 lbs. per box). The mesh on the bottom is plastic. The deck tiles can be cut through with any blade that can cut through stone and plastic.
WHAT IS THE WEIGHT PER LINEAR FOOT FOR EACH DECK BOARD PROFILE?
The UH02 is 28 lbs per 16 feet, or 1.75 lbs per foot. The US33 is 40 lbs per 16 feet, or 2.5 lbs per foot. The US01 is 40 lbs per 16 feet, or 2.5 lbs per foot. The US07 is is 40 lbs per 16 feet, or 2.5 lbs per foot.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMEND MINIMUM SPACING FOR THE SOLID DECK BOARDS?
We recommend a minimum space of 1/16 of an inch.
IN WHAT LENGTHS ARE NEWTECHWOOD DECK BOARDS AVAILABLE?
NewTechWood deck boards are available in 16 foot and 8-foot sizes. For 8-foot boards, purchasing must be done directly through Home Depot. Longer lengths (usually 20 feet) are available as a Special Order, with the same restrictions as Special Order colors, specifically a minimum order of 2400 linear feet (1100 square feet), a 16 week lead time, and a 30% deposit. Special Order lengths may only be purchased directly from NewTechWood, or through a local distributor. They are not available through Home Depot.
