HOW DO I BEST CUT THE T-CLIPS FOR USE WHERE THERE IS A PERPENDICULAR INTERSECTION BETWEEN A BOARD’S GROOVE AND ANOTHER BOARDS END?
This can be cut using either a grinder or a bandsaw, holding the clip with vice-grips. We recommend extreme caution be exercised in doing this.
HOW DO I ATTACH END CAPS FOR THE UH02 HOLLOW BOARDS IF THE BOARDS ARE CUT AT AN ANGLE?
We do not currently make end caps to accommodate non straight end cuts. Ideally you would want to avoid having any significant spacing at such ends. Since this varies on a case by case basis, please reach out to us so we may advise accordingly.
HOW CAN I USE A US33 OR ROUTED BOARD NEXT TO A SOLID BOARD, WITHOUT A GROOVE?
If one board with a groove is next to a board without a groove, a T-clip or mini-gap clip may still be used, but would need to be cut in half. A T-clip may be cut using either a grinder or a bandsaw, holding the clip with vice-grips. We recommend extreme caution be exercised in doing this.
HOW CAN I COVER THE ENDS OF THE US33 BOARDS USED IN STAIRS?
While we do not have an end cap type solution for the US33 board, a fascia board can be used to cover the ends of the boards. Cutting an angle on the stair board can also help create a frame around the stairs. An example of this can be seen in the image below:

DO YOU NEED TO PRE-DRILL IF USING NEWTECHWOOD STARBORN DECK SCREWS?
If using NewTechWood Starborn deck screws, you would not need to. Pre-drilling is required, if you use another brand, especially if you notice mushrooming.
DO THE MINI-GAP AND T-CLIPS COME WITH SCREWS? DO YOU SELL ADDITIONAL SCREWS?
Yes, they do. We do not have screws for sale, but additional clips can be purchased to meet this demand.
DO THE 16-FOOT DECK BOARDS NEED TO BE LOCKED AT MORE THAN ONE JOIST?
For any standard installation, you would not need to have more than 1 locking clip per board, used in the middle of the board, preventing expansion and contraction in the middle, and allowing for expansion and contraction at the ends.
DO END CAPS NEED TO BE USED EVEN IF THE UH02 VOYAGER SERIES HOLLOW BOARD BUTTS INTO A PERPENDICULAR SOLID BOARD?
This is recommended as best practice, but is not required.
