IF BOARDS BUTT END TO END, CAN THEY BE SUPPORTED ON THE SAME JOIST?
No, each board needs to be supported by its own joist.
IF A SOLID BOARD NEEDS TO BE ROUTERED, WHAT SIZE SPACE SHOULD BE MADE TO FIT THE T-CLIPS OR MINI-GAP CLIPS?
Routering a space of 1/4 inch would suffice to fit the T-clips, or mini-gap clip.
HOW WOULD I PLACE THE DECK BOARDS SO AS TO HAVE NO GAP TO LEAK AT END-TO-END POSITION?
You would need an underlayment to have no water leak.
HOW MANY CLIPS ARE USED PER US33 STARTER BOARD?
The clips are laid out one per joist, so at 16 inches on center, this comes to 12 clips per board.
HOW IS THE US33 STARTER BOARD INSTALLED, IF IT IS THE LAST BOARD (USING BOTH THE MINIGAP SYSTEM AND THE REGULAR PLASTIC CLIP SYSTEM)?
If the US33 is the last board and you are using the T-clips, you will have to put both the starter clips and the T-clips into place first, and then slide the board in from the side. Please ensure that all parts are properly aligned, so that the board may be easily be able to slide into place. If the US33 is the last board and the mini gap clips are being used, the only way is to secure the board is by using the outside edge with a screw, and toe nailing either from above, or below to secure the board in.
HOW FAR FROM THE EDGE OF THE BOARD DO I NEED TO SCREW?
We recommend using two screws, each one 1.5 inches from the two sides of the board.
HOW DO I USE NEWTECHWOOD LOCKING CLIPS FOR DECKING?

HOW DO I USE A MOISTURESHIELD WITH MY DECK WITHOUT HAVING TO PIERCE IT?
The moistureshield would go under the subframe itself. The boards have to be attached to the subframe, and would therefore pierce any material between the two.
HOW DO I REPLACE DAMAGED BOARDS THAT ARE INSTALLED USING THE T-CLIPS?
Since the screw of the T-clip is accessible via the gap, they can be loosened. Once they are sufficient loose, the damage board may be slid out, replaced, and the T-clips screwed back in.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY NEWTECHWOOD / STARBORN DECK SCREWS I NEED FOR MY INSTALLATION?
While you’ll want to confirm with your contractor, as a general rule, you need to use two screws every 16 inches. This comes to 24 screws per board. Since each box of deck screws is a 100 pack, this roughly means you can cover 4 boards of 16 foot each per pack of screws. This also means that each box of deck screws covers roughly 25 square feet. Therefore, you’ll need 4 boxes per 100 square feet of decking, generally speaking.
